After loosing my Cokin filter system to the ocean trying to capture the scene below, I had decide whether to invest in a new filter holder.   May photographers these days go without filters and choose to add grads in post production, I am a bit more old school. I find that using filters when you capture the image not only help you visualize the final image better, but they also help to add depth and mood to an image which cannot be reproduced in post.

I went for a cheap holder which came with a bunch of cheap filters and chose to invest in some higher quality filters with hard grads, specifically for seascapes. Below one of the shots from the new filters. Thanks to everyone who made a contribution which allowed me to replace my old holder, I hope you enjoy the images they produce.

The walk back.
